Who it’s for: Anyone and everyone! While you may think a completely plant-based menu with Eastern/Central European roots would be too niche, every item is so thoughtfully created and hearty that all diners will walk away satisfied. The menu is small but ever-changing, so I recommend ordering across categories (small + big plates, sandwiches, dessert, and drinks) and sampling as much as possible.
What I’m ordering next: Salatka (Polish for salad) and Koktajle (cocktails) are among the most raved items in Apeteka’s impressive Happy Cow and Yelp reviews. Unexpected combinations like chili/sunflower seeds and poppyseed/bourbon make my mouth water!
Why I love it: The atmosphere is simultaneously elevated and relaxed, and the service is quick and accommodating. With minimal design and tons of natural light, the open seating is perfect for showing off Steel City’s food scene to a group of friends or meeting new ones at a table next to you.
